Lok Seva Sangam

Lok Seva Sangam (LSS) provides education to more than 250 children and healthcare to more than 10,000 people in the Bainganwadi distract of Mumbai.

Mazarello Youth Welfare Centre

This centre in Wadala Road, Mumbai provides education to children living in local slum areas, with primary schools and after-school projects. They also manage a programme for long-distance child adoption and child sponsorships.

Parva School

Parva School was founded by a former SlumAid volunteer and it now provides basic education for around 100 children. Volunteers supplement the teaching staff with English lessons and extra curricular programmes.

Promotes education, human development, and well-being for underprivileged children and women in slums. They offer community-based education and development of slum and street children along with women empowerment and skills training.

Mukuru Promotion Centre

MPC is an NGO providing early childhood development and education, secondary education, vocational skills, social rehabilitation, and health services to Nairobi’s Mukuru community.

Developing Unity, Nurturing Knowledge (DUNK)

DUNK supports around 850 children annually by promoting education through sport. They run basketball programmes for children and young adults, who live in deprived areas of Accra. They also run an after school programme that includes tutoring and library services for children at risk.

WYCF runs many different projects: 2 primary schools with 260 children, child protection interventions, secondary school scholarships, community outreach, women empowerment programmes, skills training, vocational training and sports projects.

SIRP works with deprived rural communities towards poverty alleviation and their overall empowerment in a sustainable manner through sustained advocacy, social media campaigns, training research, project implementation, and provision of credit.

The charity runs pre-schools, primary schools and vocational schools for around 260 children. GUC also organises workshops to promote health and good behaviour for the members of the communities who live in the slums of Dhaka.

Talità Kum operates in Librino, a deprived areas in Catania, one of the biggest cities in Sicily, Italy. Librino is known as a very degraded area and it hosts one of the biggest drugs market in the south of Italy. Talità Kum’s mission is to help the families living in Librino to overcome difficulties, by providing educational projects for mothers, children and teenagers.

IRAIVI LGBT organises vocational training for members of the LGTB community, by providing professional training and assistance for transgender people to help them overcome discrimination and bias still strong in Indian society. They also run campaigns for the rights of LGBT community members in the slums of Chennai.

Building Dreams Foundation

Building Dreams Foundation works in the poorest urban and rural areas in the Uttarakhand region. This charity promotes the social development of disadvantaged children and communities. Their mission is to serve the most vulnerable populations by providing food, education, environmental and health programmes.

Mama’s for Burundi

From 1993 to 2006 a catastrophic civil war engulfed Burundi, leaving the country in shambles. Following the war, poverty in Burundi increased so much that the country was ranked as the second most impoverished country in the world. Mama’s for Burundi fights poverty by providing educational, health, and empowerment programmes to children and women in need.

Neighborhoods Association IDMAJ

IDMAJ Neighborhoods Association runs a community centre and schools in Sidi Moumen, one of the most deprived areas in Casablanca. IDMAJ’s mission is to encourage at risk children and vulnerable youth to stay in school, avoid delinquency, drug addiction, violence and extremism, through various cultural and educational activities.

Sierra Leone Freetown

West Africa Child Fund

West Africa Child operates in informal settlements in Freetown. Sierra Leone is one of the world’s poorest countries and street kids are keen to be involved in criminal activities and they are at risk of sexual exploitation. West Africa Child Fund aims at improving the quality of life of street children and orphans through educational projects.

Uganda Kasese

Educate a Child International

Educate Child International Uganda operates both in urban and rural areas around the Kasese district to alleviate society problems, like poverty, women illiteracy, teenage pregnancy and child marriage. In Ugada, child marriage remains a form of defilement promoted through social norms and hidden from legal probity. Girls are often forced to drop out school, as a result of child marriage.

Mali Bamako

A Child For All (ACFA)

ACFA-Mali opened the Bamako Children’s Home in 2010 in the capital city of Bamako. They host and educate orphans giving them a hope for the future. ACFA also opened a shelter for children in the village of Zorokoro, not far from the capital city. Thanks to their eco-sustainable approach, when this complex is completed, it will be self-sufficient and they will have the facilities necessary to grow and educate 100 children.
